Answer and topic summary

The answer is C. Erythema multiforme

Erythema multiforme (EM) is an inflammatory skin condition characterized by erythematous macules and/or papules that look like target lesions (“bull’s eye lesions“). These lesions may be itchy or painful, often impacting the palms/soles and mouth. The most common cause is infections (90% of the time, in particular, HSV is often indicated); other causes include medications, autoimmune diseases, cancer, and radiation. Treatment is managing the underlying causes. Systemic steroids can be used for severe instances.
