Current blueprints: EOR topic lists effective July 2026 (Surgery: 2023 list, unchanged) · EOC content areas effective April 2026 · PANCE blueprint effective January 2025 · PANRE/PANRE-LA blueprint effective January 2023. Legacy rows are preserved for students testing on earlier blueprints. PANRE & PANRE-LA share one blueprint — the level badges show NCCPA's performance expectations (H&P · Diagnosis · Intervention Basic/Complex). Study checkmarks sync to your Smarty PANCE account when you're logged in (otherwise they save in this browser only). © Smarty PANCE.

What’s on the PANCE, PANRE, EOR™ and EOC™ blueprints?
Four separate lists, published by two different organizations, on four different schedules — which is exactly why they are so hard to keep straight. Here is where each one stands today, and what the numbers in the table above mean.
PANCE — NCCPA content blueprint, effective January 2025
839 topics across 22 content areas, each carrying its own share of the exam. The three largest are not organ systems at all but task areas: Formulating Most Likely Diagnosis (18%), History Taking and Performing Physical Examination (16%), and Managing Patients — Clinical Intervention (16%). Those task areas cut across every organ system, so one topic can be tested several different ways.
PANRE and PANRE-LA — one shared NCCPA blueprint, effective January 2023
334 topics across 15 areas, led by Cardiovascular (12%), Gastrointestinal/Nutrition (10%) and Pulmonary (10%). Because both exams draw from the same list, the level badge matters more than the topic name: NCCPA states a performance expectation for each topic — H&P, Diagnosis, Intervention (Basic) or Intervention (Complex) — and that is what tells you how deep to study it.
End of Rotation™ — PAEA topic lists, effective July 2026
1,723 topics across seven rotations: Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Gynecological/Sexual and Reproductive Health, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatric and Behavioral Health, and Surgery. Surgery still uses the 2023 list, unchanged.
End of Curriculum™ — PAEA content areas, effective April 2026
128 entries across 12 areas, weighted toward Cardiovascular (13%), Pulmonary (11%) and Gastrointestinal (11%).
Which blueprint am I actually testing on?
Whichever one was in force the day you sit the exam — not the day you started studying. That is why the table defaults to current blueprints and keeps the earlier versions behind a legacy filter rather than deleting them. If your program still teaches to an older End of Rotation list, or you are recertifying against the 2023 PANRE blueprint, switch the version filter and the whole table follows.
How to use the table and the blueprint view
The Topic list view is for hunting: search any topic, filter by exam, organ system, rotation or PANRE assessment level, and open the exact lesson. The Blueprint view rebuilds the official blueprint as an outline — content areas with their published weights, expandable down to individual topics — with a weighted coverage bar that tells you how much of the exam you have covered, not just how many topics you have ticked off. Lessons you finish on their own page mark themselves complete here automatically, and every checkmark syncs to your Smarty PANCE account when you are logged in.
Full blueprint topic index
Every entry below links straight to its Smarty PANCE lesson, laid out in the blueprint’s own order — content area, then category, then topic and subtopic — for browsing, printing, or scanning the whole list at once.
