Answer and topic summary

The answer is D. Cataracts

Cataracts are opacifications of the natural lens of the eye. About half of people over the age of 75 years old have cataracts. Clinical features include a loss of visual acuity that progresses slowly over many years. Patients may complain of glares and difficulty driving at night. Risk factors include cigarette smoking, steroid usage, UV radiation exposure, diabetes, old age, and Wilson disease. Surgery is the definitive treatment. It is very effective!
